Handmade ceramics, crafted with intention

Welcome to Workman Pottery

I have been hand building with clay since a very young age, and ceramics has always made me feel grounded. My specialty is creating small plates and bowls.

One of the aspects I love about working with clay is the element of surprise; you never know what the final result will be until the last firing is complete.

Follow along on Instagram to see what I'm currently working on, or visit my Etsy shop to bring a piece home.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer pottery classes for beginners?

Yes! My hand building classes are perfect for all skill levels, including complete beginners. I teach in small groups so you get plenty of personal attention. Both in-person (Culver City, CA) and online workshops are available.

What's the difference between hand building and wheel throwing?

Hand building uses techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab building to shape clay by hand — no pottery wheel needed. It gives you incredible creative freedom and every piece is truly one-of-a-kind. All my work is hand built.

Can I commission a custom piece?

Absolutely! I love working on custom orders. Whether it's a specific size, color palette, or design — send me a message through the contact form and we'll discuss your vision. Custom pieces typically take 4-6 weeks.

Where can I buy your pottery?

You can shop my current collection on my Etsy shop. I also sell at local art fairs and markets — follow me on Instagram or join my mailing list for event announcements.

Do you ship nationwide?

Yes! All pieces are carefully wrapped and shipped via USPS Priority Mail with insurance. I ship throughout the United States. International shipping available on request.

What is The Potter's Mud Room?

The Potter's Mud Room is a pottery tracking app I created for potters. It helps you log your clay bodies, glazes, firings, and finished pieces so you never forget what worked. It's free to start at thepottersmudroom.com.
